NOVELMODELS Social Focus this week is on JOSE HENDO. José Hendo, African Ethical Designer, is an award winning designer, taking a fresh approach to contemporary fashion design, challenging the throw away culture. The label is passionately conscious of the times and is inspired by the world around us. JOSE HENDO’s first solo showcase during London Fashion Week took place on September 13th, 2014. Her collections use eco-friendly fabrics as much as possible, creating unique one-off pieces, from organic barkcloth, cotton, used garments such as suits, denim, wedding dresses etc.Her clients include UK STYLE’s Who do you think you are: Makeover programme – (Coach, Stylist) UK GMTV/Lorraine Kelly Morning breakfast TV Show – (Fashion Expert), Aspire Magazine, Colures London, Brune Paris, and Mayor of London Fashion initiative for the development of London based emerging designers.

NOVELMODELS Social Focus this week is on FASHION one Foundation.
FASHION one Foundation teams up with local government units in the Philippines to give “LIGHT” to as many communities as possible… How? Well, beginning in Puerto Princessa, Palawan, they have provided the city and its mountain region with solar lamps to “Light a Million Homes in the Philippines.”
Watch as model/actress Monica Rofler distributes Solar Lamps to the residents.Palawan is quite remote, with provinces with basically no electricity - so as it was mentioned, there were many dangers of using mostly candles in the place of electricity. Watching FASHION one paying attention to the beautiful families of Palawan, giving away nearly 1000 solar lamps… and to extend their initiative even further, is inspiring to say the least. For those involved, I’m sure it was an entirely fulfilling experience!
